Konkoor

These days if you are in Iran and have some teenagers in your friends or family, then you will see a noticeable stress in their eyes. In next 2 days the biggest test for Iranian universities entrance will be done. Poor students should answer to about 400 tests (they are 4 optioned) in about 3:45 minutes and any wrong answer will result into their failure in entrance or will lead them into far cities.
This ridiculous test is named Konkoor. We can consider it as a nightmare or exaggerating ceremony for our people. I hope at least our children never see this unfair judgment!!!

I totally agree with you on the subject of konkoor. I don't think it's the right way to assess the aptitude of students. There are many people who are highly intelligent but don’t function well under stress and Konkoor is precisely designed to exclude them. More importantly, there is no fairness in the selection process because of unjustifiable quota system in Iran. If you are connected to any of the state organ such as IRGC, Bassij, Jahad etc then you are guaranteed admission to university; otherwise you have to compete ferociously for the few remaining seats.
